Toronado Holy Grail

Postby awalgrunt6 » Sat Jan 30, 2016 9:31 am

I have discovered in my own town an older woman who owns 5 Tornoados. Yeah 5. 2 stay in the garage and are absolutely pristine show cars. These 2 are a 1966 and a 1967. The 66 was restored 20 years ago and looks flawless. The second is a 1967 that is an original car. The next three outside are 66, 68, and 70. The 66 outside is in pretty good shape, it need some detail work. The 68 needs some new paint and brakes. the 70 needs new paint. All interiors are 100% immaculate which is so cool. Every last detail on the interiors is still there. I will try to upload pictures tomorrow.

Unless you live in Arizona, those cars outside aren't going to remain in very good shape for long. Are they at least covered with breathable fabric covers like Evolution III or Noah from Covercraft? It they're covered with tarps, that's the kiss of death.

Is she interested in selling them?

The 66 outside is covered with a car cover, the other two are surface rust paint. Yes, I am helping her sell them. The showcars are going to be the hardest for her to let go. But I can talk to her about it. Im going to wash all of them this weekend, get new batteries, tires, drain the old gas, new coolant, oil change, and other fluids.

That's too bad. A lot of people hoard stuff and they can't see how badly deteriorated the things have become since they first acquired them. There's a guy here in Georgia with dozens of cars from the 50s that were probably driven in and parked in the 60s , 70s and 80s. They're onlyu good for parts now but he still thinks they're priceless items and they conmtinue to rot in place.

Here's the link to the Toronado lady. Googl'e normal crisp clear images are pretty pathetic here for some reason.
