Learned the hard way that our climate affects packaging more than I thought
I had a shipment completely fall apart on me last month and I'm still kicking myself over it. I run a small operation in Ajman and I sent out a batch of products packed the same way I always do, but this time the boxes sat in a delivery van for most of the day in the heat and when they got to the customer the adhesive on the tape had basically melted and the boxes were falling open. I felt like such an amateur. I've been reading up on tips for avoiding common packaging errors and I'm realizing that I've been ignoring the fact that we live in a climate where heat can really mess with packaging materials if you're not careful. I found an article that talked about how adhesives, box integrity, and even the way you seal things can all be affected by high temperatures, and it made me realize I need to be way more intentional about choosing materials that can handle our conditions. I'm going to switch to heat-resistant tape and maybe look into boxes with better moisture resistance for summer months. Anyone else had a wake-up call like this where you realized you were packing for a climate that doesn't exist? What materials have you found hold up best during the summer here?
