I've owned mine for a year, actually a year and one month ago tomorrow. I put 1000 miles on it in the first month or two and have put about 4 or 5000 miles on it total.
The only reason it doesn't have more than that is that I've been renovating my new house since July and haven't had time to go on driving trips. It also doesn't do as well as the '56 Cadillac for Home Depot runs.
The Toro is the newest car I own. The only newer car I've ever owned was a '72 Monte Carlo. I sold that to buy the '56 Coupe DeVille.
I don't worry about the extra miles on my cars and I don't plan to sell them. I love every minute behind the wheel and am actually uncomfortable driving modern cars (friends, rentals, etc.). I'm truly a fish out of water behind the wheel of anything run by a computer and that has pictures on the controls instead of words.
I joke that if the car doesn't have a key sticking out of the dash board it's too new for me. Hahaha.

According to EBay the car sold. I don't know if it really went for $35000.

Re: Another beautiful 1966 Toro, fully restored, on eBay
I bought my 68 after I finished my Merc. I wanted to drive and enjoy my Merc but didn't want to put big miles on it.
I came across my 68 Toro and noted it was a very solid car that looked and ran very good. It was very nice but not too nice. I started to drive it and loved everything about except the brakes (sorry Doc ...lol).
Well if you gonna do the disc brake thing...you might as well address the ageing (original timing gear)...hell might as well pull the motor..refresh the tranny....also the body is super duper solid but the paint is not bad...not great...not bad...plus really I don't care for the vinyl top...
That's how the Toro you buy for a driver turns into a multi year restoration...Not to mention that one becomes so enthralled with the drive train...they start looking at the GMC Coaches...
That's a whole other story....

I have one, but it's needs exceed my abilities and I'm putting it up for sale on EBay.

Otto and MikeB, I agree entirely. The fully restored Toronado I posted about sold for $35,000.00, which I believe to be a realistic price for such a beauty, but I'm really surprised to see SOMEONE has such admiration of these incredible cars.
IT'S ABOUT TIME!!!
I've since found another ORIGINAL, LOW Mileage 1967 Toronado and I'm sending a professional to inspect the car asap (NOT getting screwed again!). My hopes are not failing yet.

Yeah, Jim (Chaser) I know exactly what you mean about the Vinyl top. That was one of THE worst nightmares my '67 encountered, and a major reason I took a 50% loss when I sold it.
The one I'm having inspected now is such low mileage I'm afraid to tell anyone else much about it. I truly LOVE the 1967 Toronado and will someday own a GOOD one!
