Olds "Holiday" (Toronado) write-up

I received a link to the April 1965 Popular Science magazine. What a time-capsule! I remember seeing those ads in magazines when I was a kid.

Anyway, Page 63 begins a "preview" story on the Olds Holiday (Toronado) Front-wheel drive car, expected to hit showrooms in '66.

Interesting article. Nice illustration of the coil springs acting on the upper control arms, and the tensioner idler gear for the transmission chain drive.

Fun read, thanks.

I found the second to last paragraph most telling with respect to applying FWD to the Thunderbird or Chrysler moving forward with the turbine car. Neither of these came about. Although, I've seen Jay Leno's Chrysler Turbine up close, which he still drives around town on occasion :shock:
