I sold it.
It is in a museum in Florida now.
That car was too nice to drive, and I am happy it ended up where it is.
I may look for another one I can feel good about driving.

that's what they're for. I've never understood how anyone could own a
car and just drive it to shows or put it on and off a trailer.

Besides what are you saving it for, so someone else can drive it and enjoy
it after you're dead? Screw that!

Those are my thoughts exactly. Will make exception for those in a museum only.
I buy the nicest cars I can find, and when I'm through with them, they should be
well past 300,000 miles. When I'm through with them they are REALLY through.

Sometimes I'm afraid the previous owner will find out just what is going to happen
to his prize, and not sell it to me. I bought a pretty Olds with the police setup, and
in the test drive spun a little gravel out from under a wheel. He says, "thats the first
time this car has ever spun a wheel". I thought, "It won't be the last.", but said nothing.
It doesn't look as pretty now (200,000 miles and counting), but it runs way better
than when I got it. Bruce Roe

I saw this car at a show in Las Vegas absolutely a stunning Toronado. It was a show that Barrett Jackson puts on in Vegas before there auction at Mandalay Bay Casino. Couple of hundred cars give or take some. They were the ones that picked this Toronado for best of show. The next time I saw this car it was on Ebay for somewhere around $40,000 and I believe it was on ebay for 2 days and pulled off of Ebay. It was sold but I don't know who or where. I believe there is not a finer Toronado any where unless some one has one with zero miles and hidden for 49 years.

Zero miles cars might belong in a museum, but they don't impress me. I'll take my 200,000
miles Olds next to that one to the farthest coast. The zero mile car will never get there, because
it never got all the regular maintenance my car gets. Every time I get a pretty car, I spend months
working out all the bugs the previous owner never took care of. Bruce Roe

I agree.

A week or two ago I was talking to a friend who curates a large collection of one-of-a-kind cars which includes a half dozen or so early 30s Packards, V12 Cadillac and two Duesenbergs, among others.

One of his duties is to drive each car on a regular schedule. Three days a week are devoted to this task and the cars get a regular workout on regular roads both in town and on a freeway.

(man, that guy has a dream job, eh?)

Anyway, their Duesenberg Town Car beat a Duesenberg Roadster at Pebble Beach because the roadster wouldn't start and was disqualified. A 4 door formal sedan virtually never beats a ragtop. All because the other owner just looks at his cars in the garage instead of using them as they were meant to be used.

This was my only car for 14 years until I bought the Toronado. Now they share daily driver duty - including vacations of over 1000 miles round trip. There's no such thing as a car that's too nice to drive.
