Found some pics of custom wheels, and specs on stock, '69

Still on the hunt for '67 specs, and specs on my Boyd Coddington wheels, but I did find this on 1969 Toro wheels, custom and stock:

http://www.breznick.com/toronado/wheels/

if the '67 stock wheels were also 6' wide, my 17 by 8 wheels MIGHT not be TOO far outside the offset specs. One can only hope.

Hmmm... Just might have hit the jackpot here, but I'm not sure yet.

Looks like Doc Breznick in your first link has the bases covered on aftermarket wheels. Pretty much what I think we already knew.

I'm pretty sure that the wheels on your car not within specs. Now that you have the GM specifications, it will be pretty easy for you to tell if those rims are correct or not.

Notice the backspace measurement on stock wheels is 3/4 of an inch longer than the width of the rim. That means the rim bolts to the hub assembly beyond the outer edge of the outside tire bead.

It seems that I know what I like the looks of, but not what the car needs to be RIGHT.

In the meantime, check this out:

Beautiful and expensive, but I think the offset is correct.

That link just took me to a list of cars, not a picture of a specific wheel.

Try starting here http://www.bigwheels.net/

There ARE other Makers out there that DO make the wheels we need!

This is unacceptable. I can NOT send a pic to this poster! Hey dude, send me an Email at dcalhoun@blomand.net and I WILL reply with a screenshot of the wheels I found. Geesh!

Saw the selections on the Big Wheels site. I hope I never see any of those on a Toronado or Eldorado. Some 15 -17 inch in the old mag style might be ok but these 20s with rubber bands are ridiculous. They ruin the ride, too.

I actually like the look of nicely painted stock wheels with a dog dish and beauty ring.

Otto, I agree completely. The wheels on my Toro are 17 x 8 and I was thinking of getting exactly that same size with the correct offset, but now I see that I can't find what I had found on the Big Wheels site just a few days ago. The ones I found were the made by American Racing and were the VN425 Torq-Thrust. All of a sudden, nearly everything I HAD found that should fit a Toro or Eldo is GONE from the Big Wheels site. Only TWO remain and I don't much like either design.

Yup, HUGE diameter wheels, like 20 inchers or even bigger, with tires that have sidewalls SO short they look like there shouldn't even be any air in them.... nope, not for me. I do like a somewhat lower sidewall, but not so much as to make a car ride like a tank!
