Re: Newbie with a 67 Toro

Hi Trailrunner,

I am restoring a 67 also; in the Tric-Cities area, WA, so not that far away. Hope you can post some pictures of your car, would love to see it and can give you some pointers on whatever servicing you want to do with your car.

Re: 1968 TORONADO FROM ARGENTINA

Well, this is very interesting! There is a 68 Toro where I live and it has the bucket seats (the 090 Trim code) and the center console shift. I'm not sure that it was stock, but now I think it is, because it looks exactly the same. It is also the F2 code (Teal with black vinyl top). I'm going to loo...

Re: 1968 TORONADO FROM ARGENTINA

Fabio, Great looking car!! Under the paint code it says F2. Not sure what the F color refers to, but that would be the paint color for your car. I am pretty sure the "2" means black vinyl roof, which your car has. Under trim your tag says 090. I think these are black seats -- bucket? I cou...

67 CV boots

I'm getting ready to tackle the last major mechanical issue other than brakes on my restoration which is replacing the CV boots. The car has around 130,000 miles on it, so I'm wondering what the bearings will be like. Where is the place to order bearing kits for these cars, and is it pretty much a g...

Valve cover decal, 66-67 Toro

Looking for a proper 66-67 valve cover decal printed on aluminum. There was a member , 67 Toro, that had reproduced these several years ago, but he doesn't seem to be active and probably sold his stock. Here's what it looks like (the dark blue one is correct).

slim odds

Just was thinking about the odds of this. I was visiting family in Caldwell, ID this past weekend, and in talking with my sister as I was leaving (I was in the car parked in front of her house), she was asking me about my 1967 Olds Toro project. As I was talking with her about this, a 1967 Toronado ...

Re: 1968 Toro; how rare is it?

Bill, Found the info I had written down on this 68 Toro. VIN: 394878M61991 (as expected, this was moved to the top of dash, visible through windshield) Body Tag: O4C (means assembled in 3rd week of April) ST 68-39487 EUC030186 (Base Toronado, 1968 Body Style, Lansing, MI, body serial number) TR 060 ...

Re: New member

Bill, Thanks again. I do have the Protecto-Plate. The original owner was a lawyer and he and his wife loved this car from the day they purchased it. His sons weren't interested in keeping it, so I obtained it; it had deteriorated quite a bit (primarily the vinyl roof rust problem) after sitting outs...

Re: 1968 Toro; how rare is it?

Bill, A few more specifics about this 68 Toro. It is a Standard based on the VIN. Also, the trim tag had 060, meaning the standard Morrocean vinyl (with center designed imprinted). When I said center console, what I should have written was that it has the console with shifter. The steering column is...

Re: New member

Thanks Bill! I'm very interested in any info you can help provide. I also had posted another question about a 68 Toro with bucket seats and center shift console in the other forum.
