Re: Looking for new tires

I bought tires from Diamondback with correct whilewall. They are actually modern Toyo tires, which I ran for years on the car, but they have the correct whitewall. They are correct size and look. They see rated highly. Look at their FAQs and call then up and discuss with them.

Re: Makin' it happen

Looks great! Still a long road yet, from one that has been there. I noticed your torsion bars are painted the correct color (maybe you just cleaned them carefully). Did you know the rear springs were actually the same color when new? I checked mine very carefully when they were apart and sure enough...

Re: 67 power steering pressure hose

Take your original to a hydraulic shop and have them clean/re-use the metal connector parts and replace the hose to correct specification. I did that for mine. It's impossible to find the correct hose for these. And 67 up Eldorados are different.

Re: Interior carpet for Toronado -66

I ordered my stuff from SMS. They have all the original materials. You can get the correct materials from them. THe carpet isn't too horribly expensive. Nor is vinyl if you're looking at the rest. My car had the vinyl cloth seats. The cloth insert material was very expensive. But they do have and kn...

Off to the upholstery shop

Then a short list of items to complete, then done! To complete: Steering wheel, new tires, pinstripe, alignment, and fill AC/oil compressor. Then a few systems checks.

Re: Rare Parts

I installed the Kanter kit on my car. Really haven't yet driven it yet as I'm just finishing the restoration, but the Kanter parts really did seem just fine and like the originals. I replaced all suspension parts on the car with the exception of the rear spring to axle pads which were not readily av...

Re: Remove Dash Cluster

I think it's pretty straightforward, but heavy and awkward. An extra set of hands would be useful in my view. Also, that is a good time to replace ducting for the vents which usually goes bad. Check out all wiring connections as others have mentioned earlier. I used some green plastic file folder ma...

Re: Comfortron replacement

Looks great! One of the members has a 69 W34 that lives nearby. Hope he'll share more pictures of his car. He's mostly done with a restoration now.
