1968 Toronado with 400 HP 455
I recently viewed a 1968 Toronado which has been outside for the last 40 years. The owner says it was parked because the front brake caliper was dragging. He also said that it has the optional 400 hp 455 ci motor. He wants $600 for it and is located in St. Genevieve, MO. The weeds were too high for ...

Re: Oil Restricters
I installed Mondello's oil restrictors in a 455 that I built for my 1972 442. I understand that in Olds engines, more than sufficient oil is fed to the lifters while the front main bearing may not receive sufficient lubrication in extreme conditions. These restrictors force more of the oil and press...

How is the thin stainless steel trim piece that separates the vinyl top from the quarter panel attached? Photos would be most helpful.

Otto,
I have been checking the Copart website as I would like to bid on the remnants of your car. Do you know why it has not been put up for auction?

Re: Coolant in oil
I just went through disassemblying, cleaning, and reassembling my engine. If I were to do it again, I would use the two piece gasket by Edelbrock. Having to use RTV both sides of the gasket then trying to keep in place while you set the mainifold down was a PITA. I just hope that mine sealed. Marty,...

Extra Electric Wire
I have a black 14 gauge electric wire that originates at the circuit breaker and the positive battery cable junction block located on the passenger fender of my '66 Toro that goes no where. A second wire off of this breaker goes through the firewall presumally to the fuse block. Is this wire superfl...

Re: Hagerty Insurance
Otto, Sorry to hear about your car! Hope you continue to be active on this forum. We had identical cars, although mine stills needs paint, bumpers, and headliner. Makes you think about adding additional circuit breakers, fuses, or fusible links. Any idea what might have started the fire? I'm contemp...

Re: Head Gasket Replacement
NicolasB, Heater cores are readily available. I replaced mine last year. The one I used in my '66 was made by APDI # 9010328 or #AY:9010061; Other than one screw at the bottom of the housing, the heater core replacement was not a bad as I expected. As Otto said, it would be much easier without the e...
