Re: wide open throttle problem
you are defiantly missing something, from the one pic here it looks like your tab that the linkage is connected to should have a 90 degree bend on it so it can make contact with the tabs on the switch (the tabs are there on yours). You are missing the 90 degree bend that should be near where the kic...

Re: wide open throttle problem
Here is a picture of both side of my kickdown, you can see the stops on both end of travel on inside (engine side) of the switch. If you rod is dragging a bit on the manifold, try taking it off and bending it a little bit, shouldnt take much. then readjust the turnbuckle on the switch end.

Re: wide open throttle problem
and I do believe that vacume thing you see in my pic is for a/c. It is connected to a vacume port on the manifold. The vacume on the other side of your carb could be either for the vacume for the trans modulator, or the vacume advance for the distrubitor.

Re: wide open throttle problem
that hole your pointing at is where a cruise control rod would go. But your kick-down linkage in the hole below the throttle and you will be set.

Re: wide open throttle problem
When the green wire goes hot that is sending the power down to the trans to "kick down". I sort of held the throttle a little over half way, simulating the driver stepping on the accelerator, and at the same time had the k-d switch "hot" and set the length at that dist. And yes m...

Re: wide open throttle problem
I think I have attached this pic correctly, You can see where the correct place to correct the solid kick-down rod is (below the throttle cable). The hole above the throttle cable is for the cruise (which mine does not have) If you need any other pic let me know. I adjusted the lever by using a test...
