Re: Asbestos products in a 1966 Toronado?
Original rope rear main seal probably had asbestos. I expect that's long-gone by now.

Some pages won't display properly for me. The VIN pages near the beginning seem to be oversize, so that the page ends with some printing deleted.

Re: th425 550hp /600 tq
hey there, found something interesting. seems like those guys did a set of headers for a 1966 toronado: https://www.gbemandrel.com/marman-flanges.html shorty style headers...would that make a big difference compared to stock manifolds? http://toronado.org/forum/download/file.php?id=1441 The upper p...

Or buy a block adapter similar to this one for a Pontiac.

Re: Rsistor Wire
The resistor in a GM is the wire itself. There is no bigass ceramic block like a Chrysler or Ford. A resistor primarily acts to reduce the current) (amperage) flow in a circuit. They only reduce voltage when current is flowing. If the points are open, no current flows, so voltage is not reduced. Whe...

Re: front Brake disc conversion
They want $1200 for the conversion kit. For that much money, I'll buy used parts from a salvage yard, recondition them, and have hundreds left over. I bought an entire parts-car for $300, scalped the discs, engine, transmission, and had the rest hauled away. A '67 or '68 uses the four-piston caliper...

Re: torsion bar
Addco for torsion bars, or for sway bars which are a torsion bar, but not the main springs?
I checked the Addco catalog, they list a rear bar for '67-70 (Not for '66 which I don't understand) and they list a rear bar for '71--78.
No front sway bars, no torsion bars.

Re: Looking for a Remote Oil Filter and External Oil Cooler Setup for the 455
Let me rephrase. I suggest you remove the OEM filter mount. Put it on a shelf, or sell it on eBay. Either 1. Open the block holes using a bit sized for the pipe thread, then tap for the pipe thread-to-37 degree flare hose adapter. You'll want pipe-to-37 adapters in at least -10. Something like this:...

Re: Rsistor Wire
If you have the service manual, it should show the exact cavity in the bulkhead connector you need to deal with. Remove engine-compartment-side bulkhead connector. Pop the original resistor wire out, plug the new wire in. Reconnect bulkhead connector block. There are companies selling the 12-gauge w...
