Re: First Generation Toronado Advice
In my opinion that price is high. It's obviously based primarily on the fact that it's a one owner car. For that kind of money, though, you'd be better off to by a '66 for less and use part of your savings to make improvements. I think the '66 in general is more desirable with the possible exception...

Re: how about a "Major Builds and Projects section"
There is/was at least one thread on here which linked to the builder's fb page. Don't remember now who or where. I'd say anyone who wishes to post an ongoing thread like that should just start one in the Technical section and title it appropriately so it can be found. I like seeing stuff like that, ...

Call John Dorcey. He has a bunch of parts cars. His information is in the Parts and Services section under Body and Trim.

Re: 67 exhaust tips source?
I think you're going to have to get a pair of decent originals and have them restored and rechromed.

Re: How To Fix Your Trunk Vent Drains
Yep. It's leaking in around window - probably from top and bottom. The front and rear windows don't use rubber gaskets like most cars of this era. That makes removal easier but allows the goo used to seal them in and hold them in place to dry out, crack, etc. allowing water in. This results in rust ...

Re: How To Fix Your Trunk Vent Drains
How are the rubber parts in the quarter panel wells? Pour water into the vents with the trunk open and watch for leaks. Stick your hand down in the bottom and feel around. See if you pull out dirt or rust or anything else. Is it moist? I'd be amazed if the rubber parts in the quarters were not torn....

Re: spark plugs for my 66
In regard to the question that started this thread about R46 plugs, I would not use them. That would be two heat ranges above the spec'd plug which could result in pre-detonation. The R43S, while 1 heat range less than spec, would be a safer choice. There are a bunch of 44S and R44S for sale on ebay...

Re: spark plugs for my 66
The R43S are the ones that come up on the computers as OEM spec at the parts stores.
The manual says low compression V8 uses 45S, high compression V8 uses 44S. I don't think either are available any more.
Amazing what you learn when you read the manual.

Re: Lug nut torque specs?
Actually, it is in the Chassis Service Manual. It's in the torque spec chart on page 5E-5, the brake section.
