Re: Brand new Olds Toronado owner
For what it’s worth, I don’t believe that bolt was for a 67 option. Ive seen it on too many 66’s. My car didn’t have it but someone had changed from the original carb to a Holley. So it could have been there originally. The parts car had one and had the original carb. Same as Otto’s. My parts car ha...

Yes I do. I just pulled the dash apart the other day to get the fan switch. The headlight switch looks good and feels like it’s functioning correctly but I have no way to test it. I would sell it for $75 plus shipping.

Re: Brand new Olds Toronado owner
Copied from the Corvette Forums on early Q-jet carbs: “The stock routing for the vacuum advance is to use a "ported vacuum" source for the vacuum advance. A ported vacuum source produces no vacuum signal at idle, but produces normal vacuum signal once the throttle blades are opened up just...

Re: 66 Parts For Sale
François, I have the plate and support for the bumper you need. I’ll let you have them for $50 plus shipping. It’s hard to tell if the rusted part is the bottom of the inner fender or the main support. This is a picture of what mine looks like. The shipping for the whole thing would be expensive! Ma...

Re: 66 Parts For Sale
The part that’s rusted is the bottom side of the inner fender. The battery sits above there in the engine compartment. They all rust out there from battery acid. I had bought another set of inner fenders and cut the good portion of the driver side and shaped it to fit pass side and welded it in. I d...

Re: 66 Fuel sender
I believe it’s the additives the govt demands they put in the gasoline. The ethanol evaporates quickly and then what’s left starts to deteriorate. I’ve worked on cars since I was a kid. Back in the 70’s. We could take old cars that had been sitting for years and revive them. The old gas that was lef...

Re: 66 Fuel sender
Mine works right now but it’s pretty rusty. I dropped the tank to empty it. Gas has been sitting in it four over four years and has turned to varnish. Damn that stuff stinks! Figured I’d replace it and keep this one for a backup. I’ll have to store it in a sealed ziplock tho to keep the stink out of...
