Re: Decode 1966 Data plate?
toro1966paintchips.jpg I know at the Cadillac Club Grand Nationals they do not match the cowl tag to check the exterior or interior codes as being a match to the car. Of course if you paint your car in a non authentic color or in a color not offered that model year it would stand out like a sore th...

Re: Decode 1966 Data plate?
It probably does. I can't get to the car for a while, that side is parked against a wall. There were a lot of great colors offered on these cars. I have never deviated from the original color on any car but since it will be getting a full respray, I am thinking of a different factory color, maybe a ...

Re: Decode 1966 Data plate?
It does have power seats. It also has the rear defogger. The floor only has one rust spot there the gas pedal is held down to the floor. I took the photos when I bought the car and it has not been cleaned so the rugs are just dirty. The car is in storage until I can get to it when it gets warmer.] I...

Decode 1966 Data plate?
I believe it's a deluxe. The car is white with a black all vinyl interior.
My shop manual for 66 Olds does not seem to have the information in the front section of the book that pertains to the Toronado.
Thanks,
Brian

Re: Possible LOW Oil Pressure Problem
Bruce, I am not driving it. I need some time to get to pulling out the engine. I just bought a 1960 Eldorado Seville that has not been run for 15 years. It's on my lift right now and I am hoping to get it running within a week or so, then I can get into the Toro. Thanks for the input, I know it need...

Re: Possible LOW Oil Pressure Problem
I agree that the nylon coating is probably laying in chunks in the pan and has partially blocked the pickup. I may try to use an inspection camera to verify this. I don't see any way to drop the pan with the engine in the car so it looks like the engine needs to come out to remove the pan, clean eve...

Re: Possible LOW Oil Pressure Problem
With the 20-50 oil, the pressure is slightly higher at hot idle.
The car makes no noises and does run great, but now the oil pressure light flickers, not on bright, at a hot idle in "D". Gauge shows about 10-12, when I hook up the light it comes on.
Wrong sender maybe?

Re: Possible LOW Oil Pressure Problem
I already bought some Lucas high zinc 20-50 and will be giving that a shot. At 64,000 miles, unless there is crap in the pan and the engine was starved for oil and did some damage, I wouldn't expect bearings to go bad in 64,000 miles.\ I do respect your opinion and if I need to pull the engine I wil...
