Re: 1966 Toro Exhaust system

I purchased my exhaust from these guys: http://waldronexhaust.com/ The only issue I had was that the bends are not optimized and I had to have a local shop adjust the exhaust. This can be avoided by having a shop install the exhaust in the first place. If someone can get their car over to Waldron's ...

Re: octane for 425

I was very curious about Otto's response so I did some research and there is evidence for the idea that you may be able to drive for a while on unleaded if you do nothing to the valve seats, but this appears to rely on leftover lead clinging to the valves and does not appear to be a viable long term...

Re: posi-traction

Limited Slip in an FWD car may not be a good idea. I have a GMC 3500 truck with an LSD and I can really feel how it scrubs around corners. The intent of an LSD is to provide traction in cases where one wheel might slip, but it also resists the differential action in normal use, and FWD cars really e...

Re: th425 550hp /600 tq

Interesting. I assume you had to cut a hole in the hood to allow clearance for the intake? Any pics? What are the Power and Torque Peak RPM values? Did you install Headers? My cam is not quite as aggressive as yours, but it is close. I do not have the intake or exhaust to allow it to breath properly...

Re: 1969 questions

I do go bombing around a bit and could use the performance on the road given where I live here in the Cascades. It is not unusual to have several miles of downhill... As for seeing the discs, actually, you can see more of them than you might think if you have Chrome wheels. You definitely will be ab...

Re: Could we one day see an ELECTRIC Toronado?

Mine is already so modded that it is pretty far from original and I like it that way. If I do a 66 it will be original, so my current car is my driver/experiment vehicle. It is as much the challenge of design engineering as anything - assuming I ever get around to it. I hate the current rear suspens...

Re: Could we one day see an ELECTRIC Toronado?

I am seriously contemplating allowing room for a Tesla motor when I design my IRS setup. I live near Art Morrison here in the Tacoma area so once I have the funds I plan to work with him on a design. I suspect it will not be that hard to design in room for a Tesla motor, and then it is just a matter...

Re: Post your MPG!

I recently went from around 11 mpg while sucking mass quantities of oil from my PCV back to what I recall from when I was a kid with a highly tuned motor. I now must be exceeding 15 MPG given the cruises I do and how often I fill it up. I plan to do a proper test once I get the Water Injection insta...

Re: 1969 questions

Otto et al, You forget the most important thing of all - discs look far better than drums in my (worthless) opinion therefore they are worth whatever effort is required! :geek: I plan to do my disc brakes when I get around to designing and building the IRS to replace that pathetic afterthought of a ...
