Re: Original Documentation

...and hit 13mpg once...

You must have been driving the speed limit between Chattanooga and Atlanta.

I haven't had a chance to get my Toro on the road. I've promised the wife that I would guarantee no oil drips on the driveway. I thought I had it conquered until this last weekend. :x

Re: California Plates

Sadly, that's my take, too. YOM program for autos stops at 1969. I'm sure they're the original plates because of the following: 1) They are steel (Aluminum started in '76 or '77) 2) The plates are 6 characters (7 characters started in the early '80s, not sure of the exact year.) 3) The sequence of t...

California Plates

Any California DMV experts out there? It's sort of a good news/bad news thing: Good news: I have the original plates on my Toro. They're in serviceable shape. Bad news: When I acquired my Toro, I had to also obtain new California plates. This is because the previous owner didn't keep up with vehicle...

Original Documentation

One of the really cool things about my Toro is that I still have the original vehicle purchase order, plates, and owner's manual. The original owner wrote on the purchase order and in the manual: He kept a bit of journal of the original gas mileage for the first 2 months and work performed until he ...

Re: how about a "Major Builds and Projects section"

It's far from perfect, but one way might be for each 'project manager' to have their own website (facebook/google+/homepage) that shows the project progression and the refer the major milestones on the forum. It allows for control over content back on the member's own website and allows other member...

Re: More about Window Regulators

Otto, what's your poison? I'll send a case your way. Car-part just made the top of my Favorites! Thanks. I can't tell you how many hours I've spent on Google and car-part never came up. I have electric. I'm also guessing that any 1st Gen E-Body will fit. Also, I did find these on amazon: http://ecx....

More about Window Regulators

I dissembled both the driver side and passenger side regulators. I'm amazed that these things don't fail more often than they do. On mine, the regulator, where the roller guide pin is located, is badly worn. The driver side is loose almost to the point of failure. The passenger side has come complet...
