Re: Atomic EFI from MSD

I had my MSD Atomic fuel injection system installed and my mechanic is not able to get it working properly. I don't have all the details yet, but will need some help once I get my car back home.

Re: My First Car Show for My '66 - the GM Nationals

You can always return it, but I think yours will still look great with a single intake. I'm also going to replace the clock on the dash with a 2" tachometer I'd like to swap out the other gauges too ( temp, oil pressure etc), but haven't found anything in that form-factor. The speedometer is st...

Re: My First Car Show for My '66 - the GM Nationals

I have replaced the vacuum headlight actuators with electric ones from a Ford Probe and am relocating the battery to the trunk where it will be enclosed in a marine battery box. This frees up all the space I need to run the intake from both sides. I have two options at this point for the intake. 1. ...

Re: My First Car Show for My '66 - the GM Nationals

Thanks everybody for all the positive feedback. The GM Nationals was a lot of fun and I met a ton of great people. On a whim, my wife suggested we submit it for the Invitational, where it would be displayed indoors with a handful of other vehicles. To our complete surprise, we were picked and got to...

My First Car Show for My '66 - the GM Nationals

It's been a bumpy and expensive road, but I'm taking my 1966 Toro to the GM Nationals car show in Carlisle PA. Here's a brief overview of what's been done to the car. I still have a couple of little projects, but she's about 95% complete - MSD Atomic Electronic Fuel Injection - Electronic Headlight ...

Re: I'm going to convert my 66 Toronado to EFI. Any advice?

Thanks for all the great info!

I'll be getting my 66 back from the body shop in a couple of weeks (new paint job, seals, etc.) and then I'll start working on the engine.

If everything goes well, I'll have her ready to run by next Spring.

Re: I'm going to convert my 66 Toronado to EFI. Any advice?

No drag racing for me, but road racing of some sort is what I'm interested in. It's good to know that there are 4 wheel disk brake options so I'll keep an eye on craigslist and see if I can find an Eldorado for cheap. I'm going to have to read up on vacuum boosted braking. Hotchkis has suspensions a...

Re: I'm going to convert my 66 Toronado to EFI. Any advice?

An Eldorado is most likely what was used for the disk brake conversion. All that I could remember was El Camino. I knew it was El something... is it possible to have a four wheel disk brake system for the Toronado? I was thinking of oval track racing or maybe just racing for time. There must ...

Re: I'm going to convert my 66 Toronado to EFI. Any advice?

There's a 7qt oil pan from Milodon that says it fits, but now I'm sceptical based on what you said about allowing the drive shaft to cross under the engine. http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MIL-30305/Application/?query=Make|OLDSMOBILE|Model|TORONADO|Engine+Size|7.0L%2f425 I'll get H-Beam Rods in an...

Re: I'm going to convert my 66 Toronado to EFI. Any advice?

The Hydraulic Roller Camshafts from Mondello seem to be in line with the direction I want to go, but like you said, are they considerably more expensive. and I still have no idea which one will work for me. I think I'll give them a call. Sounds like you might have done done some racing yourself, whi...
