Re: Brand new Olds Toronado owner

That’s a nice looking car Francois. If you are interested in recovering the seats to match the doors I may have a solution. I had a guy redo my seats, front and back, for my 66. They came out beautiful. But they were the wrong color for my car. My door panels and headliner are turquoise and he did t...

Heater switch 66 Toro

I’m looking for the switch (5 or six position) that controls the blower motor. It’s mounted on the upper left side of the dash on the heater/ac controller. Don’t need the dial just the switch. Or if someone knows where to find a new one that would be great too. I’ve tried fixing mine and looking for...

Re: 76 Toronado Low Coolant Light

Y’all are trying way too hard. There is a simple solution.

Take a proper length of electrical tape and place it on the dash directly over the warning lamp.

Problem solved!

Re: 66 WOT question

Thanks Bruce. I plan to get the switch setup after I get the carb. My switch seems good in that it feels like its clicking on both ends of the travel. I’ve got cruise on the car too but missing the linkage. Also noticed parts broken on the back side of the adjustment wheel behind the dash. I think I...

Re: 66 WOT question

I spoke with Tim again today. Got the correct carb ordered. Fortunately they had a good core and are going to rebuild it for me. Said it would be a couple weeks. Ok. I’ve plenty to do in the mean time. I found a divorced choke assembly on eBay for $85. It is a reman of the original. Has the correct ...

Re: 66 WOT question

Thanks Willy. I hadn’t been able to find that number before. That helps. Much appreciated Otto. Those pics help a lot! I spoke to Tim Hewitt yesterday. Wow. That guy sure knows carbs! He said he had one there but wanted to put his hands on it and call me back. I’m gonna have to get a ski mask and ma...

Re: 66 WOT question

Hey Otto. Any chance you could post a picture of your carb?

Or anyone else who has the original Q-Jet post a picture of theirs. That may give me some direction.

Thanks!

Re: 66 WOT question

I’m pretty sure this carb is not the right one. I tried calling Tim per your recommendation but he’s out till Monday. The car was running on the old Holley but not well. I haven’t tried to start it yet with the new one. Thanks for the props! I’ve spent a bit of time on it. Si, si, Tuco Ramírez. “Whe...
