Re: Fuel Sending Unit
I contacted a couple, but the good ones charge about $600. I did it myself with some tank sealer and vacuumed out the dirt that was sitting at the bottom so no more of it can go inside the fuel filters or carburetor.

Re: Fuel Sending Unit
The prices are pretty dang steep, but they’re the only ones who are now going to produce new fuel tanks. At this point I would expect it to be made from stainless steel or better.
Update: Wow, it’s really expensive in my opinion, cause for me it would cost about $662.91 including the shipping!

Re: 1967 DeLuxe Resto
It’s cool to see you making that car into a one-of-a-kind Toronado! It will definitely stand out! Sure it isn’t original, but what do I know? After all, I can’t say much either with my “ugly” bucket seats and wrong exhaust system right?

Re: 1967 DeLuxe Resto
Man, that’s a good price! I might do that myself, just need to find someone to repair the rust and I need to finish the engine rebuild first haha.

Re: 1967 DeLuxe Resto
Now that's a clean Toro! Looks a lot better than before (especially without those wheels). Looked like something the Joker would have driven. Did you paint the car yourself? How long did that take and how difficult is it to do that?

Re: Head Gasket Replacement
Ah okay, I understand. I think all of the sprockets on RockAuto are just cast iron or steel. I’m looking at the engine rebuild kit for the Toronado, and it comes with a stage 3 cam. They no longer sell a stock cam, but I kinda don’t want to have a car with a rough idle and sacrifice drivability. The...

Re: Head Gasket Replacement
Yes, hopefully I can paint the engine bay while the block is at the shop. I’m also planning on rebuilding the gearbox since there’s more room to remove it, and replace the timing chain with a double roller kit. Replacing the heater core sounds like a good idea, and I might or might not remove all of...

Re: Head Gasket Replacement
Yeah on cold starts, it made a clacking noise then stopped after a minute. I’m assuming it’s piston slap (and my mechanic thinks it’s happening too), but the cylinder walls are surprisingly smooth and don’t show signs of scoring. I also talked to him about using diesel oil after I do a top end rebui...
