Re: 1966 Toronado engine 'Ping' when accelerating
Sounds like detonation. That happens when the octane is too low. Seeing the compression is over ten you may need to go to a higher octane rated gasoline. I run super unleaded (93 octane) with a couple of gallons of leaded 110 octane added every now and then and have had no problems. The lead also he...

Mirrors
Never could understand the mirror situation on the late first gen toros so I'd like to upgrade to symmetrical "sport" type mirrors. The Cutlass type look good but the angle is not correct--I'd like to do it without butchering a decent set of mirrors. Any suggestions?

Re: Almost on the road...
Looks cool--I have all kinds of things swimming in my head too. I am saving a regular 70 Toronado that I one day hope to "hot rod" including FI, gears and.....turbos! Probably insane but if I ever get all the dough together.... :D I save my GT's for "restoration". Is the HEI a be...

Re: 1970 olds toronado hubcaps
I'll get the photos out as soon as I succeed--like I said, got them into a file, now the trick is to get them into an e-mail. They all tell me how easy it is--but it never ends up being so!

Re: 1970 olds toronado hubcaps
I think I have them in a file that I can send to your email. Give me the address and I'll see if I can get the pics to you. One is VERY nice two are decent and one is so so but certainly workable. Thanks, Carmen

Re: WANTED: FACTORY CORRECT NON-AC 1970 Toronado GT
Also looking for a rust free 1970 core support (or two) for my Platinum and Viking blue GT's--even just the battery side lower sheetmetal--as long as its unpitted/uncorroded. Thanks.
