Re: Makin' it happen

Hey Otto, I think the shocks are old style oil and the drums are very nice...the discs are also very nice. I try to buy only old USA made parts when I can't obtain or afford NOS. In the exhaust deoartment I just received some very nice intermediate pipes from Martin Johnson in Manistee MI. He's a gr...

Re: Makin' it happen

The shocks are old GM, probably from the late 1980's and the drums are old Wagner....I've been dragging around parts for 25 years!

Re: Makin' it happen

Thanks Otto, I figured that they may not be painted but just wasn't sure. The tank I'm confident was just plain galvanized which I will try to replicate with paint. Thanks for the input!

By the way, been back to Gran Sasso lately? :D

Re: Makin' it happen

I rebuilt my original Delco Moraine calipers but ran into an issue evenly seating the dust boot. I could not find a suitable tool in order to do this without wrecking the seal edge and the Kent-Moore BT-6808 when found will cost at least 50 or 60 bucks (for a thin disc of aluminum ) so I had to...

Re: Makin' it happen

Wondering if anyone knows for sure what finish the gas tank straps are? Are they painted or just plain metal? Been trying to find out with no luck :?

Anyway, I guess I'll do the exhaust to keep things rolling....

Re: Makin' it happen

Got a bunch of small stuff taken care of but something that I expected to be small was a nightmare...the oil dipstick tube! I nearly wrecked a NOS one! Clean hole, clean, non-corroded, no burr tube, still a pain! Used a bolt that just fit into the top end and pounded it down. The Toronado tube has a...
