Re: German imported -66 headlight problem

Pull up the carpet at the dimmer switch and you should see the wires plugged into it. There should be three wires. Blue, green and tan. Blue wire is 12v+, tan wire is low beam and green is hi beam. Put a jumper from the blue wire to the tan and green wires and observe. While you’re there I would put...

Re: German imported -66 headlight problem

In that case I’d try the dimmer switch first. Easier to come by than the main switch.

Try jumping the dimmer switch and see what happens.

Re: Accelerator Pedal 66

Thanks Bruce.

I bought one of your controllers and made a bracket for the kick down switch.

I can’t wait to finish the car and take her for a test drive.

I would greatly appreciate it if you could let me know if you have one in good shape and how much you want for it.

Thanks.

Re: 69 Toronado Stalled

Get a large syringe (one for injecting turkeys before frying) and a small can of gas. When you put the new pump on inject gas into the line going to the tank before you put it on the pump. Do the same with the supply line. Inject gas into the line from the carb down to the pump. This will help prime...

Re: 69 Toronado Stalled

Most likely your fuel pump is bad. Like Otto said, this new gas eats rubber seals. (Thank you Government!).

Try a new fuel pump. Probably have you back on the road.

Accelerator Pedal 66

Does anyone have a spare accelerator pedal for 66 67 or any year that matches?

One of the ball sockets disintegrated on mine and it’s hard to keep the pedal from flopping.

Anyone have an idea to repair one?

Re: 69 Toronado Stalled

If it will start on ether then it’s not electrical. It has to be a fuel issue. With the air filter off work the throttle and look down the carb. See if there is a squirt of fuel. If not, pull the fuel line off the carb and put the end into a coffee can. Have someone turn the engine over and observe ...

Re: 69 Toronado Stalled

In order to help, you need to provide more information. “ I tried to turn it back on, but it didn’t budge” doesn’t tell us what it’s doing. Otto has pretty much covered all the bases. It could be altitude but doubtful. Does it not turn over? Does it turn over but not start? If it turns over but won’...
