Re: 76 Toronado Low Coolant Light

My cousin's 1995 Gran Prix had that same problem on a regular/annual basis. I helped him replace the sensor. It was on the passenger side of the radiator about 8" down from the top, facing the firewall. You could see it (inside of the radiator) from the radiator cap. I think crap gets on the se...

Re: MY NEW (old) OLDS!!

Congratulations on your car. Looks nice. You mentioned that you had a yellow, '72 Cutlass S in HS. I also have a yellow, '72 Cutlass S, 442 in my garage along with my '66 Toronado.

8 Track Tape Player

My '66 Toro had a mounting bracket for what appears to be for an 8 track tape player. The bracket was mounted on a sloping plastic plate located below the ignition switch. Was this an option on this year? If it was an option, does anyone have a photo or a unit to sell?

Re: 66 WOT question

Your carb is not the original# for this year. You need a Rochester model #7026250. My car had the wrong carb and I ended up having to buy two cores in order to make one good one. Google "Quadrajet 7026250 and you'll find them. It might take a while, but having the correct carb with the correct ...

Re: Brand new Olds Toronado owner

I can't help on whether the seat upholstery is original, or not. If it were changed, it appears that they did a good job. If it were me, and I liked the interior, and it was presentable, I' d use it as it is and not worry about originality. On the carpet color, suggest removing the threshold plate a...

Re: Parts List with Part Numbers and Prices

Otto, I bought them from Applied GMC. My inner CV joint is round and the CV boots from Applied GMS were triangular. I do not know the cutoff date or SN. The guy at Constant Velocity was the one that told me there were two types on '66 cars and that they could not find replacement boots for the round...

Inner CV Boot Replacement

I received the inner CV replacement boots from Applied GMC (part # GM1-1.003.12) and found they were not correct for my car. I understand that the early '66 cars has a round drive flange and the later '66 models use a triangular drive flange. Have to send them back and continue to search for ones th...

Re: Parts List with Part Numbers and Prices

Otto, FYI, I called Jim back and ordered the second inner CV boot. First, I purchased a rebuilt CV shaft from NAPA. I found that the shaft diameter (where the bearing sits) was 0.005" less than my old shaft and I returned it to NAPA. I then gave NAPA my old shaft and asked them to send it to Ca...
