Re: Alignment

Hahaha! Thanks.

For $20 you can't beat it. I'll buy a pair to keep on the shelf just in case. They probably are Chinese but I'm not auto crossing this car so if I need to use them they ought to work.

Re: Alignment

Well, I guess I'd better take good care of the bearings that are on it now! Rock Auto shows front wheel bearing for 1966 for $20. Is this the correct part? Should I order a couple just to have them on hand? https://www.rockauto.com/en/catalog/oldsmobile,1966,toronado,7.0l+425cid+v8,1346396,brake+&am...

Re: Alignment

Duh... Hahaha! I didn't even notice that. I'm so used to looking at '66 stuff I didn't look back at the original post!

Re: Toronado 66 headlight actuators

Hi Francois,

I just looked again and there is no file with an .stl suffix among the downloaded files.

I opened all of them and they are JPG images of thumbnails, etc.

Re: Toronado 66 headlight actuators

Thanks Francois, I'll look again but I don't recall seeing that file. Fortunately my headlights go up and down properly albeit slowly. I just want to save the information for the future if/when they quit on me. So you designed this part yourself? The original part is a single rubber plunger with no ...

Re: Alignment

Shurkey and Francois, how did you locate that part at Rock Auto and NAPA? When I do a search on both sites for '66 Toro front wheel bearing, that part does not come up.

Re: Alignment

$160 per side from NAPA is crazy.

Even at half the price its steep but what what choice do you have? Fortunately for me, my car doesn't need any yet.

Re: Toronado 66 headlight actuators

That's pretty cool. What is the green part made out of? Is it hard plastic? What did your old one look like? Did you send the original part to a 3d printer place? Sorry for all the questions. Here's another one. At the link you provided, are there supposed to be plans for the the 3d printing? I foun...

Re: 66 power window motor

Yep. That arm rest door handle is a poor design. It looks like it was intended to be a little storage shelf for misc stuff. The opening is so large I had a set of keys slide down hole. Luckily I could just see them hung up on something down there and I slipped in a grabber tool and managed to get th...

Re: 66 power window motor

My car has roll up windows but my experience with power windows is that the motor itself is seldom bad. it's usually contacts and switches that get corroded. The little plastic guides that ride on the tracks get brittle and break. The tracks get full of crud and dried out grease, etc. Take the thing...
