Re: Considering adding passenger-side rear view mirror

There's one thing on my car that I bet yours doesn't have. Notice the decklid. See that center crease? Only a handful of '66 Toros have it. GM was testing to see if it would reduce flexing of the lid. They ran a couple hundred like this on one day and never again because it doesn't do anything to st...

Re: Toronado carburetor differences

I have a '66 Toro so I can't answer specific questions about your carburetor but you might want to contact Tim Hewitt at Daytona Parts Company. He has an encyclopedic knowledge of virtually every carburetor ever made. He can probably tell you about yours and whether or not the Q jets you have on han...

Re: Considering adding passenger-side rear view mirror

Hi Emac, It is funny that the cars are so similar. What's even more amazing is that I know another guy in Gwinnet with a Dubonett '66 Toro. I think it must be the angle of the photo and distance from the camera that makes the car look like it has headrests. It has the deluxe bench seats without a he...

Re: Alignment

I purchased a pair of the WJB front wheel bearings from Rock Auto for $20 each. They had an instant 10% rebate at checkout. I also used the 5% Rock Auto discount code so the grand total for a set of front wheel bearings which included $3.30 tax and $7.99 shipping was $44.53. That's not too bad. The ...

Re: Considering adding passenger-side rear view mirror

Emac, I just noticed you live in Suwannee. I live in Decatur.

My Toronado is the same color as yours, Dubonnet. Pretty cool.

Re: Considering adding passenger-side rear view mirror

In answer to both of you, I wouldn't bother with a passenger side mirror. My 1956 Cadillac has only a driver side mirror. I too prefer symmetry and thought about installing one on the passenger side. In order to even see it, it would have to be set back farther than the driver side mirror because it...

Re: Toronado 66 headlight actuators

Whatever that is, my computer won't open it. It was the same on the download from the website. I get an error message in a box titled: Invalid Public Key Security Object File The message in the box reads: This file is invalid for use as the following: Certificate Trust List. I have no idea what any ...
