Re: New Member seeking advise on 1970 GT anyone in FL?

Interesting that you say there are many incorrect things about this car and that it's being sold out of Lakeland, Fl. because... A former owner of my car told me that it (my car) appeared on ebay some years back and was also being misrepresented. It too was being sold by somebody in Lakeland, FL. He...

What Lubricant is Used in The Final Drive (Differential)?

Owner's Manual and Factory Service Manual both specifically state NOT to use conventional differential fluid (I'm assuming they're referring to 90 weight or heavier gear oil). They recommend using their own special proprietary brew called "Oldsmobile Special Lubricant, Part No. 1050015. Sounds ...

Re: How Do You Replace Headlights on 1966 Toro

All the new halogen headlights came from Rock Auto yesterday but one low beam was broken! That sucks. I hate not finishing the job. Rock Auto's warehouse is over in Austell, GA about 15 minutes from me. Unfortunately they don't allow pickups so I'll have to wait until next week to get the last headl...

You are correct, it's 12-A.

Does that mean 1st week of December or what?

Only 39 cars apart on the line.

Do you know what serial number they started with and what number it ended with?

Re: Looking For Parts and Accessories Sources For 1966 Toron

Funny. I noticed the crease while waxing the car and didn't give it any thought. I looked to see if there was a subtle crease in the center of the roof or hood but of course there isn't. I just figured all of them were made that way.

Re: What IS The Correct Radiator Cap Pressure For 1966 Toro?

I'm not having any problems with overheating or leaking. The gauge stays right at about 1/4. It puked out a small amount of coolant at a gas station on my drive to Chattanooga yesterday but I think it was just finding it's level. I think it had been over filled by the previous owner. When I checked ...

Re: Looking For Parts and Accessories Sources For 1966 Toron

That's really cool. What time zone are you in so I don't call too late or too early? I'll try to call you this week. I've only had it 3 weeks and I'm enjoying it a lot. I drove it on a 250 mile round trip yesterday and it runs smooth as silk. Not as comfortable or economical as the '56 Cadillac but ...

I was leaning that way. I'll replace the 16lb cap that's on it with a 13 lb cap.

As for brake shoes, I can have the current shoes relined if necessary to make sure they are correct.

Re: How Do You Replace Headlights on 1966 Toro

Sorry Doc, I should have mentioned that I have the 1966 Olds FSM and it's completely silent on the procedure. It describes how to disassemble non working lights and housings and actuators but not how to change a bulb. My actuators work well going up and down and the ballast tank has enough reserve t...
