You should have a thermal fan clutch. My 69 Toro is a non A/C but has HD cooling and shows the correct OY code as per the service manual :
Here's a picture of my fan clutch:

Re: Battery Size
The 1975 Delco Remy brochure says all Oldsmobile 455 to have a R89S battery, 420 CCA.
In my case, I have a Delco Group 34 660 CCA that fits my 69 battery tray perfectly.

Heater box disassembly
Hello! Do you guys know how to disassemble the flapper doors on a non AC heater box? I need to remove them to restore the heater box from my 69 Toro but I'm scared to make my disassembly project a disaster project. I tried PB Blaster (a lot) and I tried heat but the hinges don't want to move. I had ...

Toronado in Canada
I read that GM lost all information about the 1969 Toronado. Fortunately GM of Canada didn't lost its database. I just ordered the report for my car. Very interesting information! The report lists all options my car came with, the dealership and the number of car sold that year in the country. GM Ca...

Re: Alternator identification
Otto, I don't want a concours car but I try to see how original is my car. Since all documentation I found lists different information I got very confused and I can't say if it's original or not. Also, the concern I have with this alternator is more about the 37 amps its producing. Is it enough to p...

Alternator identification
Hello all, What would be the right part number for my 69 Toro Delco Remy alternator? Mine is 1100834 (37 amp) but it is not listed in the Oldsmobile part catalog. I googled it and it seems my alternator would come from a 68 or 69 Chevy but digging deeper I found a Delco Camaro part catalog listing i...

Thank you Otto,
Beside Fusick and Steele Rubber, do we have a good supplier of rubber that sells a complete repair kit? I understand that some parts like bushings are pretty hard to find

69 W34
Hello, I'm Orphé from Quebec, Canada. Last year I bought my dream car: a matching number 69 Toronado with 74k miles but I just started working on it. The car spent the last decades in a barn and except for the front end that is damaged and some surface rust, the frame, the floors and the engine are ...
