disk brake conversion

I am 98% decided on a disk brake conversion for my '66 Toro (Otto I know your opinion on this, I live in the Rockies and I will be descending long steep mountain passes). My question: any recommendations for manufacturers/suppliers of a conversion kit, and more so, ANY NIGHTMARE STORIES? ... I want ...

Re: Strato seat details

OK that helps a bit Roland, thank you. As for the top of the seat back, I see on the top of the seat back panel that it clips into something, but either I am missing that something (maybe in a box, I did not disassemble the car), or maybe it is covered up with some upholstery. Would you mind sharing...

Strato seat details

Putting my Strato seats together (means I'm getting close to driving in them) and have a couple details questions, please see attached photos: 1) Does the bottom of the back panel attach with hogrings? 2) It looks like there is a seat-back bumper at the bottom (2 small holes), can anyone enlighten m...

Re: Interior carpet for Toronado -66

It appears SMS is no longer carrying carpet. Anyone have any recommendations good bad or otherwise? It's hard to tell just looking online and even swatches are hard to gauge for quality.

Re: steering shaft conversion

That's the way I was leaning Otto so thanks for helping sway me with some good old fashioned reasoning. Increased safety due to collapsing steering shaft in the event of a head-on.

steering shaft conversion

The "rag joint" on my '66 steering shaft decomposed and is toast. I can get a new one by Borgeson (US made). However, my shop is recommending I switch over to a Borgeson telescoping/collapsible shaft, for improved safety and a tighter "feel" in the steering. Seems like worthy adv...

390783 ash tray spring

Does anyone know a source for a 390783 ash tray spring?, other than junk yards? Pic attached.

Thanks in advance.

Re: ignition switch conundrum

Whew!! (or maybe DOH!). The ignition key I used to insert the lock barrel was worn, I got another key and I am now back to rights with the ignition switch.

If there were a contest for how many little mistakes can you make putting a Toro back together, I would be a top contender

ignition switch conundrum

After putting in a new wiring harness, I have been hooking up things under the dash (what fun, not!). For the ignition switch I removed the lock cylinder and ignition switch and fit the wiring connector up nice and tight, then put it all back into the dash. For those of you who don't know, to remove...
