Re: 1966 Parts List

While listed by the supplier as fitting a 1966 Toronado, some of the parts have not fit. While they are sitting on my desk, I have installed only about 1/3 of these parts. The AC Delco #45G0503 sway bar-to-body bushing I got from Rockauto are oval shaped, whereas the bracket is more round than oval....

1966 Parts List

Here is the parts list and pricing that I have put together over the last three months for my '66 model. Hope this helps someone else from spending as much time as I did researching part numbers, and returning parts because they were not correct. 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado • Oil Filter AC UPF58 or AC ...

Re: Rear Air Shocks

I think I got this rear shock issue resolved. I had given my NAPA dealer the Gabriel gas shock # 82040, but told him I wanted air shocks. When he cross-referenced that Gabriel # to a Monroe shock, it came up at # 66609 (or a NAPA shock # MA711) which is the one I bought and tried to bolt up. It turn...

Re: Rear Air Shocks

Both of the air shocks that Rockauto lists will not fit my car. They both have a retracted length of 13.4" and an extended length of 21.6". They won't even bolt up because they are too short.

Re: Rear Air Shocks

Reason #1 is that they were original to my car
and #2 they are cheaper than new, or retensioned, springs.

Are Sensa-Trac air shocks? What is the part number?

Rear Air Shocks

I purchased a set of NAPA air shocks #MA771 for my '66 Toronado. When I tried to put them on they would not extend far enough to bolt up. The car is supported under the rear axle, so the car is at ride height. My original ones were made by Regal- Ride #48042R and measured 13.75" retracted and 2...

Dated Classifed Ads

I'm having difficulty determining the date which an ad was posted. Most appear to be posted long ago.

Re: Front Hub Bearing Removal

You sure keep your cars and trucks looking nice. The Caddy is way cool! Are you the one in the photos of your '66 Toro? In my glory days (late 70's and early 80's) my neighbor had a '72 Monte Carlo. We both had 455 Olds powered Sidewinder jet boats and ran them on the Mississippi River north of Quin...
