I am so sorry, Otto! I am glad you are safe though, and I hope you are able to retrieve the car for your own closure so to speak.
Wow, that must have been quite a sight for the other folks on highway.
Take care, and thank you for the tips on fire extinguisher.

Brake line clips for 66
Does anyone know where you can obtain original style push in brake line clips for a 66 Toro? I really like this style with the two pointed ends that securely hold the line to the frame rail. Redoing the lines and the underbody and mine are OK, but would love to replace with new if I can. Have been l...

It is a 66 Toro and I did turn the key as far to the left as I could but to no avail. I will keep trying though.

ignition bezel removal
Does anyone have any experience or tips for removing the chrome bezel that secures the ignition lock to the front panel? I have tried following the steps in the manual but have only been able to remove it about half way and now it seems pretty stuck. Also, I have tired inserting a paperclip in the l...

Re: Cowl that houses the rear seat speaker
It actually is the part that you can't even see from the front, and it is the part that the speaker is attached to and the chrome surround as well. I went with a black semi-gloss and it turned out very nice. I also found the spot on parchment paint (they call it Almond) at my local Home Depot and so...

Cowl that houses the rear seat speaker
I am in the process of restoring my rear seat speaker and when I removed it from the seat and the cowl that it is housed in, I found a fair bit of surface rust on the metal cowl itself; so much so that I can't quite tell if the black paint was originally a flat or more of a satin. It may even have b...

Re: Electricals not working on my 66
Thank you again for your suggestions! The horn was not working when I was last there. I hope to get out to the car this week sometime and explore the wiring more fully. I printed out all of the applicable diagrams from my Chassis CD and have been studying them and will see what I can find starting f...

Fantastic! You did a wonderful job! Does that material have some type of foam backing on it? I recently pulled the old material from mine which was in terrible condition, but there definitely is some type of foam backing on it. Also, mine has a houndstooth pattern of some shade of blue or gray or bo...

Re: Electricals not working on my 66
Thank you for this good advice! When I first looked at the car and bought it, the battery was very weak and we had to charge it to start the car. None of the electricals worked then but I thought that it would probably be something fairly simple since nothing worked! I did get the manuals on CD but ...
