Re: Instrument lights not working?
I've got the lights working again. Replaced the fuse which was not blown in the first inspection, but the new one got things working. But dash lights only work with the twilight system on. Still do not work when you turn on headlights manually. Glad you found the fault. You might want to pull and r...

Gen IV parts - VICs, PCM, stuff
I have a bunch of used parts that I no longer need having sold my 1991 Trofeo. Of these, the more useful ones are a number of VICs (most were working last time I tested them + spares from others, I have a NOS PCM too. Then I have a bunch of other stuff like IPCs (I think I have a mix of 1990 and 199...

Re: Instrument lights not working?
92 Toronado. No instrument lights when headlights come on. Dash dimmer switch will turn on the interior lights. Other lights work on dash like the data center with odometer, eng data, radio etc. Looked at the fuse box in Glove comp, int lights fuse OK. Any other fuses or somthing under the hood to ...

Re: 79-85 E-body ELC (Level control)
Regardless if the compressor keeps leaking down all of the pressure it's not going to be at the correct ride height. If you adjust the height sensor up to over compensate then the trim height is too high. If you think I'm not understanding what your saying please send me an email jhp@airmail.net Th...

Re: 79-85 E-body ELC (Level control)
Jonathan- The minimum pressure (15-20psi) is what the service manual says is required at all times for "improved ride characteristics" Yes, I understand that. However, the system is also supposed to maintain the correct ride height. If in doing that it requires more pressure than 15-20 ps...

Re: 79-85 E-body ELC (Level control)
Hello TOA group. I’m a Buick Riviera car fan who owns 4 of these cars from 1979-1985. The Eldorado and Toronados were very similar for those years. I am trying to fix my Electronic Leveling Control system. I have the underhood air compressors that work but the exhaust solenoids are leaking. I can n...

Re: toronado/trofeo differences?
The Trofeo also has firmer struts and different bushings (the FE3 type), these allow the body to sit slightly lower on the subframe. When I asked the tech dept of one of the after market strut suppliers, they advised me that their struts were slightly firmer than the Trofeo and therefore significant...
