Re: 1966 Olds Toronado Fuel Tank Sending Unit
Hey Otto, I tried the two websites. Unfortunately I no longer have the original sending unit. I'm not sure if the car had it to begin with or something happened to it along being towed to different shops.\ I bought a sending unit to a '67 Cadillac Eldorado, but they said that it doesn't fit. I'm try...

1966 Olds Toronado Fuel Tank Sending Unit
Need a whole complete and fitting sending unit for a 1966 Oldsmobile Toronado. Mechanic is not helping me research or find anything and I do not know the correct specifications.
This is the last part I need before the car runs. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Re: vacuum and wiring diagrams
I just wanted to say, that I wasn't even coming to this particular thread to learn anything. Sometimes I just go through the forum threads to see what's going on and if I can learn anything. That being said, I send you my most profound Thank You to you, toro_mike for posting that link. I needed a re...

Re: Removing Old Gasoline Part II
Can one of you post the back-end underbelly of your car? I need to figure out how to lower the two straps that hold the tank up but I can't find any photos or help online in doing so. The two straps are held up by some bolts or large pins of some kind but mine are covered in baked-on road grime or f...

Re: Removing Old Gasoline Part II
I have added almost 10 gallons of fresh gasoline to it prior to all of this and the gas tank meter reads in the middle as it always has, continued to try to start the engine past it just turning over and nothing. The fuel lines will need to be replaced anyways since I cut them and need to get new m...

Re: Removing Old Gasoline Part II
Are you able to siphon the remaining fuel out of the tank through the filler tube behind the license plate? No, inside that filler tube is an anti-siphoning device, much to my dismay. Its a tight metal coil and I cannot get any sized tube down it. I have added almost 10 gallons of fresh gasoline to ...

Removing Old Gasoline Part II: The Revenge Hello, I didn't know whether to continue/contribute to the old thread topic or start anew so here goes, After following some advice from the forum I attempted to remove the metal fuel line that meets the carburetor at the front, while loosening the nut the ...

Re: My first classic car
Doc, I was born and raised in Grand Prairie, Texas. Small town in between Dallas and Fort Worth. I am fascinated with the body styling and top-notch engineering of late 60s to late 70s American cars. Preferable in the GM family. I have a 2002 Oldsmobile Alero that I bought off family and kept it in ...

Re: Cleaning out old Gasoline
Did you post a couple days ago somewhere on this forum? A white '66? I also have a '66. Yes sir, that was me. All original, white, little rust, and absoultely beautiful. It was posted in the Intro thread. Thank you all for the advice, I can't tell how much gasoline is in the tank. When I first star...
